Entrance of Tsing Shan Monastery, Tuen Mun

Tsing Shan Monastery is nestled in the foot of Castle Peak. Inside you can find Pui To Pagoda, Tsing Wan Koon and Tsing Shan Temple. These historical monuments stand through the ages in the tranquil and well-wooded area. The beautiful and scenic surroundings create a pleasant view as well as a solemn atmoshpere. Upon entering the Monastery, you will see the words "香海名山" (Fragrant Sea and Prestigious Mountain) engraved on the archway. It is an inscription by the then Governor Sir Cecil Clementi. On the opposite side you will see the words "回頭是岸" (Repentance is Salvation). Both the surroundings and the inscriptions give you an amazing insight into the Monastery's unique past. Originated from Shek Wan in the mainland, the ridge tile of the archway is an exquisite art treasure.
