Of Hong Kong's more than 360 Chinese temples and monasteries, Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island enjoys probably the most spectacular location, it situates on Ngong Ping Plateau, 750 metres above sea level, on the northwestern side of Lantau Island. The construction site of the Tian Tan Buddha Statue can be seen near the bottom right.
