The 2nd and 3rd day of the New Year is the peak period for visiting the Shatin Che Kung Temple Legend has it that Che Kung was the Great General of the Southern Song Dynasty. The visitors were still enthusiastic in casting the offerings It is more environmentally friendly to use plastic mandarin oranges in place of real ones The visitors wrote their wishes on the offerings and hung them on the wishing tablet The New Year market at Fong Ma Po Tsuen was set upto cater to the New Year crowds The villagers of Kam Tin Heung lighted the lantern at the Tang Ching Lok Ancestral Hall to mark the addition of male family member
