Labour (1925)

This is a government report on the the general strike in 1925. It reviewed the initial stage of development, the background with China's politics, the workers and unions that had joined the strike, the activities of the government to recruit coolie labour to steady the public mind, the arrest and deportation under the Emergency Regulation, and the deployment of special police and volunteers for security measures. The government observed that some labour unions used communist language to express their claims.
