Return of Factories and Workshops (1940)

It records the types of manufactures and the number of establishments in different districts in Hong Kong in 1940, the year before Hong Kong was occupied by the Japanese. Knitting and hoisery had 225 operations in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, the most predominant type of manufacture among others.
