    Yi Yueshi (1912-2007)
Stone (Shoushan / Qingtian / Changhua)
    W 3cm; L 3cm; H 8.1cm

Seal characters: Seal of Li Zuyou
Side inscriptions: Apart from his mastery of epigraphy, painting and calligraphy, Master Li Zuyou is accomplished in seal carving. He is the only doctor practising Western medicine in the world who can have such achievements. In the fourth month of the year wuxui (1958), it is the ninth year that I have moved to Hong Kong, and more than 20 fellow seal carvers gathered together at Li’s home to discuss the organisation of our first joint exhibition. Since both young and old came together here, Master Li asked us to carve seals for him. This seal is carved to renew our friendship based on the mutual love of seal carving and advice from Master Li as a gift for my good master and helpful friend. Recorded by Yueshi.
