The Flower Cannon offering of the "羅旁花炮會" ( "Law- Pon" Flower Cannon Association), Tai Po Market. The Cannon had already been crafted and awaited for the addition of special items and offerings from the Association.
The Flower Cannon was set on a wheeled trolley for ease of transport; the members were securing it and other offerings to the trolley. These offering would then be auctioned for charity.
While the decoration of a Flower Cannon was decided by the paper workshop, those associations or individuals ordering a Cannon could add additional elements as they wished. Among these were the purifying pomelo leaves, ginger, and the red-dyed eggs. This bag was full of the lucky ginger. Among the elements adorning the Cannon was This bag of lucky ginger topped with a sword made of old coins was one of the decorations of the Flower Cannon symbolising good luck.
On the cart in front of the Flower Cannon were some of the goods dedicated to the gods for auction - porcelain Kwan Yin figure on the left and the right with the Tin Hau figure in the middle. Other goods for auction included brass incense burners and old-fashioned metal altar set.
The Association used numerous offerings including the traditional roast pigs wrapped by lucky red cellophane and set on red biers. Year charms were sticked to the head of each pig, and the tail was decorated with red flowers. A silk lantern was placed next to the pige.
Two roast pigs adorned with lucky red papers were placed on the traditional red biers awaiting to be transported to Tin Hau Temple. An archaized lantern was placed next to them.
