The film won the Best Martial Arts Award at the 24th Asian Film Festival. Halfway through the trailer, Gordon Liu (as Liu Yu-te, aka San Te) clashes with enemies using staff, sansetsukon, etc. and wielding the crescent spade near the end.
Trailer of Legendary Weapons of China (1982) Legendary Weapons of China, released in Hong Kong on 21 January 1982, was directed by Lau Kar Leung and produced by Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong) Limited. In the later part of the trailer, Lau Kar Leung (as Lei Kung) uses a crescent spade in a bout with Lau Kar Wing (as Lei Yung) with a staff, along with scenes of other actors confronting each other with an assortment of different weapons.
Trailer of The Monkey Goes West (1966) The Monkey Goes West, released in Hong Kong on 18 January 1966, was directed by Ho Meng Hua and produced by Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong) Ltd. In the trailer, the scenes of Tien Shun (as Monk Sandy) uses the crescent spade and Pang Pang (as Pigsy) his spike-toothed rake to confront the villains.
