The Bride with White Hair, released in Hong Kong on 26 August 1993, was directed by Ronny Yu and produced by Mandarin Films (Singapore) Pte Ltd. The screenplay of the film was adapted from the novel of the same title by Liang Yusheng. The film won numerous awards at the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony and the 30th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony. In the trailer, not only is a long sword seen in the hands of Leslie Cheung (as Cheuk Yat Hong) to fight against attackers, but also a machete appears at the end.
