Maker's Note | I met Chao Shao-an in the 1960s. A qin, known as Qinyun Jieyou (Relaxing the Troubled Mind through the Sound of a Qin) was made as a gift to Chao to commemorate our friendship. That qin is still in the collection of the Chao family. As approved by Chao, I have created a replica according to the measurements of Qinyun Jieyou, which is this qin. Chao gifted me a painting scroll called Little Bird on Maiden-hair Tree Branch to reciprocate my gesture. |
