Little Bird on Maiden-hair Tree Branch

Choi Chang-sau met Chao Shao-an in the 1960s. A qin, known as Qinyun Jieyou (Relaxing the Troubled Mind through the Sound of a Qin) was made by Choi Chang-sau as a gift to Chao Shao-an to commemorate their friendship. That qin is still in the collection of the Chao family. As approved by Chao Shao-an, Choi Chang-sau have created a replica according to the measurements of Qinyun Jieyou in 1981. Chao Shao-an gifted Choi Chang-sau a painting scroll called Little Bird on Maiden-hair Tree Branch (vertical scroll, ink and colour on paper) to reciprocate his gesture.
