Dongxiao (2)

This qin, named Dongxiao, was made in Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) and was acquired by Lee Chun-yuen, Otto. The photo shows the back of Dongxiao in Fuxi style.

註：唐凱是清朝康熙末至乾隆年間（十八世紀）的大收藏家，舊藏甚豐，亦喜改斲舊琴，藏「一池波」、「猿嘯青蘿」、「松篁戛玉」、「鳴岡」等琴。
Collector's Note The timbre of this qin is calm, penetrating and smooth with a lingering charm. Once collected by a qin musician in Guangdong, it later passed into the poessession of a qin enthusiast in Japan before eventually returning to Hong Kong. Mr Tung, the photographer of a book on collection of qins, has detected some possible characters beneath the paint at the position of the dragon pond and the phoenix pool through infrared imaging techniques.
